These rules were directly provided by Michael Silva during a Zoom call on July 10th, 2021, word for word. While they’re included in the kits, they’ll undoubtedly spark excitement as you eagerly await your delivery. Gather your family, invite the guys over, and rally the girls—it’s time to play!
GAME RULES:
- Chair Setup: Position chairs 40 feet apart (recommended, adjust for skill level). For pros, extend the distance.
- Team Formation: Teammates play on the same side, ranging from 1-on-1 to 4-on-4. You can balance sides as desired, ensuring at least one player on each side for teams of two or more.
POINT SCORING:
- Touchdown: Throw into basket for 6 points.
- Completion: Hit any part of the chair, including the uprights, for 3 points.
DEFENSE:
- Interception: Defending team catches the ball after it bounces off the chair (must hit the chair first, not deflected by defense). They can take a knee for 3 points or attempt to return the ball. If returned, defense can touch the ball carrier, then throw the ball towards the chair for points (1 attempt).
- 2-on-2 or more: Offense and defense can engage in blocking and lateral passes.
AFTER SCORING A TOUCHDOWN:
- Kick: From the tee, 1 point for passing through the uprights, “FITZ” if it lands in the bucket for instant victory.
- Wide Kick: If the kick misses left or right, defense can catch and return (same rules as interception return).
WINNING TEAM:
- Score: First to 54 points wins, with a winning margin of 2 points. If the trailing team is within 7 points, play continues.
HAIL MARY:
- Behind: Trail by 8 or more points, step back the same number of steps as points behind. Successful bucket shot wins, celebrating like “RUDY”.
