Love Cinnamon Rolls?

I do, too!!

Best Low-Carb Sticky Buns

Ever since I made cinnamon rolls from scratch in High School, in the cooking class called “F.E.A.S.T,” (Foods Education And Service Training), I was a goner. So, every time I crave cinnamon rolls or Best Low-Carb Sticky Buns with caramel sauce. I pull out this recipe. I was inspired to create this recipe.

What Are Low-Carb Sticky Buns

Sticky Buns; What is a sticky bun? A sticky bun is actually a cinnamon bun that’s baked with a caramel type sauce in the pan so when you flip the pan over you get buns covered in a layer of sweet, indulgent sauce. These sticky buns come in at a close second to these cinnamon rolls. Want to make the cinnamon rolls into a sticky bun? The sauce will need to be made first and be placed in the pan, before you place the cinnamon roll dough in it.

What is Almond flour?

Almond flour is more finely ground, which makes it better at mimicking white flour, thus, one of the best low-carb dough bases in ingredients. Psyllium husk, a fiber made from the outer shell of a psyllium plant’s seeds, is another ingredient selected with the intention of making the crust more bread-like. It’s used in baking as a binding agent, which further helps you avoid a crumbly crust. You’ll incorporate yeast as you would for traditional pizza dough, so it’ll even have a similar aroma to regular bread. This high protein flour is the easiest to substitute for regular flour. Some folks have allergies, so I don’t use it in my recipes, but certainly can. Just make sure that the almonds have been blanched and skin removed and that they are very finely milled.

What is the Perfect Blend Flour?

This recipe uses The Perfect Blend Flour which has arrowroot flour as one of the ingredients, which softens the mix. Because of food allergies, I use Arrowroot instead of cornstarch. Arrowroot is completely tasteless, gluten-free, easy to digest, and works very well in baked goods, as in these pizza crusts. And, Arrowroot powder is used as a thickener, like say in sauces, arrowroot becomes clear when cooked. Arrowroot is made from a tropical root plant whenever a recipe calls for starch.

The flour blend from Namaste Foods is made with wholesome ingredients such as Sweet brown rice flour, tapioca starch, brown rice flour, arrowroot starch, sorghum flour, and xantham gum to ensure only necessary and healthy ingredients goes into your body. It is not just Gluten Free but does not have any GMO ingredients in it.

What is Psyllium seed husks (ground)?

Psyllium husk powder promotes digestive regularity and helps reduce appetite and improve blood sugar balance. It also helps gluten-free bread rise and feels more like ‘real’ bread. Please Note: Never use the whole husk. Make sure you are using Psyllium husk powder, which absorbs more moisture. If you use the husks, you will have too much liquid. You can also use a coffee grinder to create your own powder if needed.

What is Inulin Powder?

Inulin powder is another alternative to replacing sugar in baking. It’s one of those ingredients with multiple benefits. In fact, it’s a natural sweetener that are healthier than refined sugar. Resistant starch feeds the good bacteria in your gut, potentially improving overall gut health and promoting healthy digestion. You can replace up to 50{c3d4333e7f3fb0422fb33f1ae3a3a8d43c26b85ec58e3e0f743aa66d26f0b8f3} of sugar in recipes with inulin when you bake. READ HERE…

  9. Place cinnamon rolls into the pan with sauce in greased prepared 9 X 13-inch baking pan or lined with parchment paper.
  10. When done turn out onto a tray and serve sticky side up.

Place the baking pan in the preheated oven at 350 degrees F. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips

  • With any yeast dough, be sure the water/milk is warm. If the liquid is too hot it will kill the yeast – too cold the yeast will not activate. To test, run the liquid over a finger – if it feels nice and warm – it’s usually good.
  • Use Room-Temperature Ingredients. Yeast warm environments, so using eggs and butter at room temperature will keep the dough at the optimal temperature for yeast to thrive.
  • Whatever you do – DO NOT Overwork the dough: To tell when the dough is ready… when properly mixed it’s pulling away from the sides of the bowl and it’s tacky, but not sticky.
  • Use a clean, oiled bowl for rising. Oiling the bowl makes it easier to remove after rising and also allows the dough to rise higher as it won’t be sticking to the sides.
  • You don’t need to keep a 1-inch apart if you want to make it like a pull-apart and place it together in a ring making sure the sealed end is up against the other cinnamon rolls; so the ends will not unravel.
